Master Plan Timeline

The university envisions a 21-month process starting in January 2020 and ending in September 2021.

The work will be divided into two phases.

 

MASTER PLANNING PROCESS – PHASE ONE

Preparation and Data Collection (January – April)
Introductory meetings to seek initial feedback; information gathering and data collection

2020欧洲杯日程Kick-off meeting with President's Council

Small group meetings with university stakeholders, representing all academic units, student life, and business operations

Meetings with local government leaders and community partners in Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William Counties, and Commonwealth of Virginia

2020欧洲杯日程Introductory meeting with Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and student leadership groups

2020欧洲杯日程Meeting with Board of Visitor representatives

2020欧洲杯日程Introduction of the planning process & invitation to participate in CoMap survey sent (via email) to all faculty, staff, and students and to local alumni and community partners

Analysis (April – August)
Begin to synthesize and analyze data collected, share preliminary assessments, seek further input, gather more data, refine … and repeat.

Monthly meetings with the Master Planning Leadership Committee 

2020欧洲杯日程Monthly Community Town Halls starting in May 

Issue Identification & Scenario Development (September)
Identify and define issues for new Mason leadership and develop a range of program alternatives across the three campuses for further consideration during Phase Two.

Update at regular meetings with Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and student leadership groups

Detailed Planning - The second phase will last 12 months, running from October 2020 through September 2021 and will focus on more detailed planning for the highest value scenarios, including:
  • Mobility
  • Infrastructure

  • Sustainability

  • Renovations

  • Open spaces

  • 2020欧洲杯日程Other, as identified in Phase One
